I studied Public Health and Gender Studies at the University of Iowa, and I’m now a freelance medical writer and editor.
I started this blog with the intention of writing about women’s health, international development and public health. Which I did, for a couple of months, and then I stopped. Now I blog about my life as an ex-academic, lesbian mother to an interracial child, transplant to the American South, (often struggling) freelance writer, and human being. I’m still interested in women’s wellness, but more often than not, that woman is myself.
